Shenzhen Math Teachers Conclude a Professional Development Program on Programming-enhanced Mathematics Teaching and Learning

The final session of a professional development programme for Shenzhen mathematics teachers concluded this week, marking the culmination of a collaborative effort to revolutionize mathematics education in Chinese classrooms. Organized to empower educators in integrating programming into mathematics instruction, the programme brought together six Shenzhen math teachers to design innovative curriculum materials blending computational thinkning with core math concepts. Over the past several months, participants co-developed lesson plans and digital resources, implemented lessons in Chineses classrooms, and reflected on the lesson implementation and student thinking.


In this last meeting, Professor Liang invited the teacher participants to the HKU campus. After the meeting, they took a tour in HKU, had a lunch gathering in Kennedy Town, and walk along the waterfront promenade.
